We believe the words of God in Deuteronomy 6:6-7:
And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. (KJV)

Thank you for your past support of BASE Camp, the Kentucky Society of CPA's (KyCPA) Business & Accounting Summer Education camp.
The program has been in operation for several years and we had planned

leadership have shifted the strategic focus for the coming year and have opted not to hold BASE Camp in 2013.
Please accept my apologies for the short notice of this change and know
that we will keep you informed of all future KyCPA student programs and
activities.
If you have any questions, please contact me at vblair@kycpa.org.
Again, we apologize for the short notice and appreciate your interest
in BASE Camp and the accounting profession. We hope to find other ways
we can work together in the very near future.

#Homeschooling and the Common Core
Common Core will be one of the topics addressed at the 2013 CHEK Leadership Summit. Please consider attending. More information and registration page found at CHEK.org.
What is Common Core? "In 2010, the National Governors Association published their “Common Core State Standards” (CCSS). These were meant as voluntary math and English guidelines which individual states could adopt." http://www.hslda.org/docs/news/2012/201212170.asp
"Connecting an individual‘s education
achievement on a standardized test to a nation‘s economic future is not
empirically or logically acceptable and using that mythical connection
for large-scale policymaking is civically reckless. When education
leaders and those who prepare them parrot that argument they actually
provide credence to that anti-intellectual myth. When school
administrators implement programs and policies built on those faulty
arguments, they commit education malpractice." Christopher Tienken on
